Nomads of Iran ( Tehran>Isfahan>Kashan>Shahre kord>Shiraz)
During the last century, authorities insistently tried to settle many Iran nomad tour, but there are still more than million nomads left in Iran. They are mostly Turkic Qashqai and the Bakhtiari, but there are also nomadic Kurds, Lors and Baluchis.
The Bakhtiari are concentrated in an area extending southward from Lorestan province to Khuzestan province and westward from Isfahan to near the Iraqi border, moving their tribes and herds of sheep and goats between summer and winter pastures. They speak the accent of Lori.
The Qashqai are based in central Iran where they move between summer and winter pastures in the province of Fars. Their migrations route is among the longest and most difficult of all of Iran’s pastoral tribes. They have become famous for their production of simple rugs, the gabbe, which have very popular with westerns. Nomadic women wear amazingly colorful long layered dresses with much jewelry and no chadors. The men sometimes wear tall hats with rounded crown.
